VirtualGL 2.2 and TigerVNC use a new open source high-speed JPEG codec called "libjpeg-turbo." libjpeg-turbo is based on libjpeg/SIMD by Miyasaka Masaru, but the TigerVNC and VirtualGL projects have made numerous enhancements to the codec. For more information about libjpeg-turbo, please see:
